Buff-fronted Quail Dove at the parking lot of Monteverde Reserve!
While working on the Bellbird Monitoring Research at Monteverde area we managed to see (very well) and photograph (not so well because of the little light) a beautiful and shy Buff-fronted Quail Dove. A bird is rarely so friendly and cooperative like this individual. Apparently it shows there every morning during that week. Another guide I met that day, Sam Woods, went there looking for this endemic Quail Dove next morning after I mentioned I saw it and he managed to find it doing precisely the same thing at the exact same hour... just wondering around and picking some fallen fruits... classic Quail Dove manner. Birds (as humans) are highly predictable.
